Throwback Thursday: Egyptian Tapestries

Thursday, July 25, 2013

During the 1930-31 school year, Mrs. Arthur Lambert (Louise Tilghman) of Salisbury presented two large Egyptian tapestries to the State Normal School. Measuring six feet long, the tapestries were purchased at a Boys’ School in Cairo, Egypt, when Mrs. Lambert was on a tour of the Mediterranean Countries. The tapestries were first hung on the walls of the Faculty Room in the Administration Building.
